On Display - Damage, Adult Store

"Meditating" outside the Damage store...

One of the easy things when starting a blog, is listing all the enjoyable and popular places you indulge in being "stoned".  A definite favorite of mine is the Damage "Adult Store" (as opposed to the Damage "Main Store", which was the focus of my original entry to this blog *smiles*!)

The "Sand" Display, to the left of the Damage store

As a statue fan, I don't essentially need *too much" clothes (though I did purchase one of shapes from the store, which are very nicely done, btw), but to me the main attraction to the Damage Adult Store are the displays provided, specifically the four outside, and the two "statue" displays inside.

The "concrete" display - my favorite display : )

The displays outside the store are in the form of a statue "being created", or partially created, which is a type of base I haven't seen elsewhere in Second Life.  Classic yet unique, there are four types of these plinths with different forms - sand, concrete, mossy stone, and golden marble.

The Mossy Stone - a beautiful aged look!

The pose on the exterior statues are essentially the same (as you can see from the photos), but the texturing skin for these displays are frankly stunning.  Upon "mounting" the statue, you'll be presented a package of a skin, eyes, and hair, matching the texture of the display.  I realize this is standard practice (to an extent - some locations don't offer the hair - very frustrating)!

The Golden Marble look - yet another fascinating skin!

One interesting aspect of Damage's displays is that instead of using an RLV trap system, instead he uses a bit of a "carrot"...  if one joins the Damage group (and after a bit of "conditioning" at the induction - *smiles*), you'll have a group tag, and if you're on a plinth/display, you'll be paid 1 linden every half hour.  Now, you won't make any serious money, so if you're at the store exclusively for camping, I'd say you'd be out of luck.  However, its a nice gesture on the store owner's part, though simply having the beautiful skins is "payment" enough, imo!

A fountain display over a pit of lava, a "subbie training" track, and a few more (non-statue) displays,  makes the interior of the adult Damage store full of interesting things to do!

The Damage adult store is one of my favorite locations to be on display... the environment is peaceful, there is plenty of traffic to see you, the skins are outstanding, and the display stands are unique!  It is in my favorites, essentially one of my "default" display locations, and at the very least, I'd recommend a visit to Damage, be it for shopping or display!

Not only am a "piece of ass", but wooden one at that! *sigh*!

To take a visit to the Damage adult store, please follow the SLurl to: http://slurl.com/secondlife/vallone/253/108/36/ ... and its quite likely I'll see you there!

On Display - The Garden of Evil

For anyone who desires to give being a "living statue" a try, the first place which come up in SL search is an intimate but well established venue named (quite appropriately), The Garden of Evil. Its is by far the most extensive display ground for statues, with more opportunities than you'll find anywhere else in Second Life.

One feature which is common for "living statues" is the RLV (Restrained Life Viewer), in conjunction with a relay (to ensure you are caught) to capture and keep an avatar in place.  Its an option that some like, some dislike, but is in full force at the Garden of Evil... so do beware if you relay is on "auto" (meaning you'll be captured and made a statue almost immediately)!

Other simply enjoy using their regular browser and trying out different plinths.  Quite simple in this case - all you have to do is "sit" on the pillar, you'll be posed, and offered a stone skin/hair/eye combination to wear, and become the statue you've always wanted to be *smiles*!

Miss Clarissa Milena has a number of variations of poses as well, some well known (such as the clam shells reminiscent of the Venus de Milo portrait), and other unique to the Garden.  The selection of plinths and statues are exceptional (I haven't quite counted all of them, including her new ones), but they range from a simple base, to grand fountains!

Additionally, it has two more immediate benefits... first designed as a classic European maze garden, it has a classical music feed.  Not everyone's taste (not even mine all the time), but it adds to the atmosphere of the maze.

Also, The Garden of Evil gets good traffic for a dedicated site.  Between those who enjoy being a statue, those who are curious, and those who simply admire the displays, it averages traffic of about 1000 visits a day (or at least that's what search says).  So, you won't be totally alone, as someone eventually passes by to admire you!

The only unfortunate thing I might comment on The Garden of Evil, is that the majority of the fountains and plinths are not for sale.  Which would mean that if you wish to be on display on one of these exquisite works, most likely you'll be paying a visit to the Garden.

(Miss Jamie Marsh / Emi Harakua on display on a beautiful wall fountain!)

A very nice fountain (one of my favorites), tucked away from the main pathways in the Garden!

Still, for many (most?), the Garden of Evil is the first place people who have a desire to try being a statue visit, and where many more enthusiasts return to continue their vice *smiles*!

My personal favorite wall mounting!

One of Miss Milena's newest works, to my best guess, are her "shrubbery" displays.  Above, I'm apparently part of the greenery (lol), and she has yet another were you are literally part of the hedge... with a bit of fruit!

Oh, no... I'm *not* trying that one again!

If you've wanted to try your hand a being a living statue, I'd recommend your first stop be the Garden of Evil. It is the largest statue maze I've located in SL, and an exceptional location to meet like minded individuals!  To give being a statue a try (if you haven't visited already), please go to: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Bad%20Kitten/40/162/22

(and a special thank you to Miss Xan Livingstone - thank you for the kind comments about the blog!)

On Display - Cranial Lust

During my travels, I like to try new things, and one topic that has my attention is hypnosis (and submission).  I've been to a few places already, and frankly they were a mixed bag, although there seemed to be a lot of guys in virtual turtle necks and corduroy jackets trying to "discuss" hypnosis.  Sorry, kind of boring!  I'm in SL to "experience" it, not to have an academic discussion of mesmerization, tyvm!  However, there is hope!  Cranial Lust is just the kind of place where one can be hypnotized into the kind of submissive one wants to be (and of course, there are traps!) *smiles*!

The first aspect that I noticed about Cranial Lust's location is the clean, moderenistic appearance.  Very nice, very spacious, and after looking around a bit, saw that it had plenty of room to cam as needed.  In addition to having a nice relaxation location, my attention was caught by the items on the wall.

They have artwork for sale, but my attention was drawn to the Grace collar (below) on display.  I have plenty of collars, but figured one more wouldn't hurt *smiles*.  Putting it on, I cycled through its options, and a number are standard, but I did like the "frilly" option (*very cute*), and for 69L, I was quite happy with its functionality.

Moving on a bit, I saw there was plinth available for sale... with demo versions just around the corner!  This is where Mr. LordVanir Dragovar's (the owner of Cranial Lust) work shines.  A lot of display plinths do the basis (e.g. capture, strip, display - with a skin at times).  The added option of "hypnotism" (I tried the "submissive slave" option) adds a new angle to being on display, vice, well... just being on display.

The HUDs (lower right corner above) are very inexpensive (e.g. 1 Linden), but add a nice air of being entranced and brainwashed (so to speak).  I purchased the trifecta available, (RLV, Hypnotic Spiral, and Sexual Hypnosis), and again, very happy with the purchase!  The plinth was only 299 Lindens, as was his hypnosis wall.  There is an additional "Repose", which was more "statuesque", with Greek lettering, and flowing water, but I will review that tempting device on my next entries.

"I"m a suction pump?  Who snuck that code in?!"

While you are visiting, to take a trip to the second floor, where LadyVanir Dragovar has her outstanding line of skins, shapes, fashion, and amazing statue skins (yes, more on that to come)!  One last mention, they do have a club (which, as you may have guessed, will also be reviewed), titled Euphoric Fascination, and its just across the bridge from Cranial Lust!  To visit, go to - http://slurl.com/secondlife/serenity%20chase/118/127/23/

On Display - Damage Main Store, Arrival Fountain

As I've been "trapped' on many locations since my return to Second Life, I've discovered that statue locations range from mediocre placements to outstandingly beautiful scenes.  One of the best locations is at a store called "Damage", which not only sells clothes, but has plenty of locations which allows you to pose!

This particular location has fast become one of my favorites, as Damage offers a number of unique things other statue fountains/plinths don't offer.  First, the design is well done.  The fountain is build nicely (even has a script to allow a passerby to "make a wish" - a nice touch!), textured well, and the water flows beautifully.  Speaking of the water, it actually "flows", at first "surrounding" you, then slowly recedes to just below your feet.

Next, the skin provided for display is very well done.  The skin package is called "Damage Mossy Stone", which includes a nice "mossy stone" pony tail, stone eyes, and a nicely done "mossy stone" skin - the texture has no waste problems (some have a broken patter - not very aesthetic)!  Though the above photo is a distance shot of my rear, you can see how the skin has nice contunity.

Nice use of textures to contrast between the build and the ground & water flow animation
(nice attention to detail!)

As a statue, one likes to be on display, and here you are at the entrance to a major store, so on "display" you are!  Good traffic, but you are simply seen as part of the scenery (which is the point)!  Finally, some fountains have a RLV trap to keep one in place ... but Mr. Carmichael is a tad more clever!  If you join his model group, you'll be compensated a Linden per half hour you are in place.  Not a fortune, mind you, but it is a small appreciation for something that the readers of this blog enjoy doing for free.

This is one of the best "statue" locations in SL - nice environment, well designed and executed build / skins, and high traffic... and as such, its usually very busy, so if you are lucky enough to hop on this fountain, do so with all speed!  To visit, please follow this SLurl to Damage's Main Store... http://slurl.com/secondlife/threlkeld/190/189/43/

Enjoying my time with a stoic stare with the sunset saying 'good bye', as I'm trapped yet again...!

The test photo, at my unofficial "home"!

Hi!  This is the test photo for the blog, to try to adjust things to show off photos at a large viewing state *smiles*.  I hope to have the blog up shortly, once I get all my "faves" done!
